Thank you so much for considering giving to the ministry of Vine and Branch Church !
In the Gospel of Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus said,
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
At Vine and Branch Church we believe strongly in giving of our time, talents, and possessions, so the Good News of Jesus can be shared locally, nationally, and internationally! God demonstrated His magnificent giving nature to us through Jesus Christ. Jesus willingly gave everything of Himself to us on the cross to conquer sin and death for all who call on Him to be saved. Our goal is to emulate God’s giving nature through His Biblical standards for giving which include the giving of tithes and offerings.
A tithe is “first fruits”(upfront) gift of faith, thanksgiving and worship, to the Lord. In Biblical times, people gave a “first-fruits” portion of their harvest, flocks, herds, … or any other Blessing – to the temple in worship of the Lord. For us today, this translates to an upfront gift of our pay or other income, given to the local church, to meet their ministry needs and expenses. The most important part of the tithe is not the amount – it’s trusting in God to offer your gift upfront (not the “leftovers”) as a step of faith in His promise to meet your needs.
An offering is a special gift given over and above your tithe for a specific purpose or ministry either within the local church or far beyond. Offerings might include gifts to specific ministries in need of additional support within the local church (such as a food pantry, friend in need fund, missions …) or a special gift to another Christian ministry either local or overseas. Vine & Branch Church and it’s members support many local, national, and international missions and missionaries.
Above all, all tithes and offerings should be given with pure motives and an attitude of worship to God and service to the body of Christ, as the Apostle Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 9:7
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”
We are incredibly Blessed at Vine & Branch Church with such a GIVING congregation. THANK YOU - your gift to VBC will enable us to continue to be a Blessing to MANY in the Name of Jesus, and to share His Love, Hope, and Joy with those near and far.
