Dear VBC Family –

DIAKONEO DAY IS THIS SUNDAY !!        Note Schedule Change !!

SUNDAY WORSHIP is at 9:00am this week.  (No Sunday School)

(Please tell anyone you think may NOT be aware of this week’s schedule change)

Jesus said, “I did not come to BE SERVED – but TO SERVE.” ( And told His Disciples – US-  to do likewise.)  With that in mind – we’re having our 2nd Annual DIAKONEO DAY (Day of SERVICE) this Sunday, October 1st.  We will have a Worship Service at 9am followed by going out to SERVE in several community projects from 10 – 12:30.  We will meet back at VBC for an optional celebration luncheon at 1pm.

We hope YOU will join us !!  (Projects include baking cookies for our “cookie Blessings”, household help from yard-work to cleaning to minor repairs to wood splitting/stacking, and doing trail work/picking up trash at Walnut Mtn. Park.  )

Come dressed in WORK clothes- bring work gloves –

and don’t forget to wear your RED DIAKONEO SHIRTS !!!

(It’s NOT too late to get added to the SERVANT list – Please RESPOND to this email and I will add you to the Diakoneo Day list.)

THANK YOU to ALL who participated in our FREEDOM SUNDAY Service last week.

FREEDOM has always been a founding principal of FREE Methodism.  From it’s inception the FM Church has fought tirelessly against slavery in all it’s forms – and continues that fight today all around the world.  That’s why we’ve partnered with our Brother and Sister FREE METHODISTS from around the globe – along with the SET FREE MOVEMENT (  – and celebrated FREEDOM SUNDAY.  Last week we highlighted the continued need to fight for FREEDOM – and WE CONTINUE to PRAY for God’s hand to do the miraculous for those held captive all around the globe (and YES – even in the UNITED STATES !)

Thanks to your GIVING HEARTS we collected $973 to support the EFFORTS OF THE SET FREE MOVEMENT.

For those of you who still wish to participate it’s NOT too late to contribute.  Just make out your check to VBC and put FREEDOM SUNDAY OFFERING on the memo – or on your cash envelope.  THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A BLESSING to OTHERS !

See you all on Sunday  🙂

Love you MUCH !
